THE OVERALL CONCEPT

For one week, we reveal the Greek city that was already here.

Greektown Week NYC is a citywide invitation to experience Greek New York—past and present, traditional and contemporary, cultural and social.

THE BIG IDEA

Greek New York has never fit inside one neighborhood.

It lives in restaurants and coffee shops, concert halls and clubs, churches and museums, galleries and stores, monuments and historic streets. It lives in the people who built communities across the city and the people carrying them forward today.

Greektown Week NYC makes that cultural city visible. It connects the food, music, nightlife, history, philanthropy, businesses, institutions and stories of Greek New York under one recognizable identity and one central calendar.

This is larger than a restaurant week, a concert series or a traditional festival. It is a way for Greek Americans, New Yorkers and visitors to encounter the breadth of Greek life in the city—and move through it as one connected experience.

AN ANNUAL NEW YORK TRADITION

The week before Thanksgiving belongs to Greek New York.

Greektown Week NYC launches in 2026 as a new annual tradition. This year—and every year thereafter—the full week before Thanksgiving will bring the city’s Greek life together under one shared identity.

Each edition will create new reasons to gather, explore and participate, while giving restaurants, cultural institutions, businesses and community organizations a dependable moment on New York’s calendar to tell their stories.

CREATED BY THE GREEK AMERICA FOUNDATION

One citywide celebration, built with partners across New York.

Greektown Week NYC is created and presented by the Greek America Foundation in collaboration with restaurants, venues, cultural institutions, businesses and community organizations throughout the city.

Every official participant contributes something identifiable to the week: a scheduled event, a Greektown Week special, or both. The offering can be ambitious or beautifully simple, but it must give the public a distinct reason to participate.

The Foundation connects these experiences through one shared identity, events calendar, venue guide and invitation to discover Greek New York.
